Rathotsava

Rathotsava or car Festival is an yearly event conducted in Big Temples. Every temple has one to three Ratha's (cars) with intricate carving and is richly decorated with Flowers & Flags. On the day of festival the temple deity is kept on it and the car is pulled by devotee amidst beating drums, fireworks and chanting of vedic hymns.The drawing of the car is preceded by a ceremony called Utsava Bali.
